Hello, one of the smart books we read as home builders urgently advises to ensure that the transitions/connections between exterior plaster and the windows and doors are sealed with elastic joints. I have paid attention to this several times with new buildings now. I could not find it like this on a single house. I want to prepare myself for the conversation with our construction company and of course back myself up with arguments. Is this actually done nowadays (with elastic joints), or is this somewhat exaggerated advice from this "specialist" book? Regards, Titus

The transition plaster <--> window represents a construction joint that will eventually crack without appropriate measures, which is why so-called plastering strips are usually used for this, I would definitely insist on that.

Best regards,
Sebastian
