Hello everyone,

which terrace slabs have you chosen? There are "normal" ones and there are some with factory-applied surface protection like [CleanTop], [b.c.s.], [PEARL EFFEKT], etc. So that the slabs do not get dirty so quickly.
Does such a surface protection make sense? Does anyone have experience or knowledge about it? Thank you very much

We have the Delgado from kbh Beton with the so-called cleanprotect sealing. I find it pleasant, also for walking on. The surface is somehow "velvety" and can also be swept well. I don’t know how it will hold up over the years. The pavement has only been in place for a few weeks. The surface was not decisive for us; we simply liked the pavement.

However, we were quite unlucky and now the 9th slab is being replaced because there is a crack in it. Our landscaper says, however, that we got a pallet that was apparently treated somewhat roughly too soon after firing, and all the slabs have therefore become slightly damaged. But that probably has nothing to do with the surface sealing.

For a driveway, I don’t consider it necessary, but in the terrace area it is very pleasant.

For the driveway and terrace, people usually use different slabs/paving anyway. Many terrace slabs are not designed to be driven over with a car.

Has anyone else dealt with the topic? Or were terrace slabs chosen only based on appearance? It feels like every manufacturer offers slabs with and without coating. Has anyone impregnated the slabs afterwards?
