Hello everyone,

what do you think about a concealed window fitting (corner and scissor hinge)? Is the additional cost (around €1,500 for the entire house) reasonable?

Is it purely an aesthetic matter or could the concealed fittings also have disadvantages (technically)?

Best regards Oliver

Hello Oliver,
it is mainly – but not only – a visual matter. Besides the visual aspect, one should also consider:
- The window sash can only be opened (turned) about 90-95°. That is of course sufficient in most cases, but... you never know.
- With some fitting manufacturers, the adjustment range of the concealed tilt-and-turn fittings is very small or doesn’t exist at all.
- Because the fittings lie completely within the rebate, no sealing plane is interrupted. That is great.
- With the fittings positioned on the inside, you naturally have more space on the sides, e.g. for tiles (old buildings). Often helpful.
May I ask which manufacturer (window and fitting)?
Regards, Peter
