Hello,
I am in the process of acquiring a studio and unfortunately I am a bit upset at the moment. The owner (whom I have known for a very long time) went with an offer to have 30m2 renovated for around 10,000 euros.
So far so good, now I have taken a look at the finished work and I seriously wonder if proper craftsmen were at work. Allegedly, the company specializes in installing roll-out ceilings.
So far so good, but during the inspection I noticed the following:
The joint gaps are practically inconsistent everywhere, the corners do not line up straight. The edges are partly crooked, appear twisted, the ceiling has a noticeable bulge. I wonder how anyone can seriously charge 6000 euros just for the ceiling and then pacify the elderly owner with the phrase "old masonry, it’s always crooked."
Suggested solution => We apply silicone everywhere as a finish.
Also quite funny is that one border has a slight damage, the company owner responded, "we received so many damaged items, the supplier is to blame," I wonder why they charge a new price if they get damaged goods? Personally, I consider the whole thing shoddy work, unfortunately, the current owner is not very argumentative. P.S. also take a look at the other problem thread.
