Hello,

before I get into an even bigger fight with my girlfriend, I’d rather just ask here. She is on a really strange trip that I can’t quite understand at the moment. She swears by "Goji" and now wants to open a small organic shop and also sell this "gemeinen Bocksdorn" there. Apparently, this is now the craze on the German market... but I have never heard of it until now, maybe you have?

What is this plant all about?

Not that it turns out to be some kind of drug...???

Goji berries are probably very rich in vitamins and are especially celebrated in Tibetan regions as a plant "for long life." Long youth, beauty, health... the whole range. Whether this is actually true I cannot say, but according to Wikipedia, it is at least not a drug! ;)

Hi,

Gemeiner Bocksdorn:
This is a shrub that can grow up to 3m high. The flowers are purple, and the flowering period extends from July to September. In autumn, the shrub bears egg-shaped, red berries.

The Bocksdorn can be found in Asia and Europe. Often as an ornamental hedge, but also wild.

For a long time, until the 19th century, the Bocksdorn was considered poisonous, but recent studies clearly show that it is NON-POISONOUS to humans. However, animals like dogs, cats, pigs, or rabbits... are at risk, but only if they eat large quantities.

Best regards,
Gartenbau;)
