Hello,

I have the following problem:
I would like to integrate RWE Smarthome into my house, and I started with thermostats. When they arrived, I had to realize that our radiators have very unusual valve connections, and of course there were no suitable adapters included with the RWE thermostats.

So I went to the hardware store with an original 40mm thermostat (Vaillant) and the new one for the purpose of getting an adapter. I was then told that they do not carry something like that because you are not allowed to make modifications yourself!!

Now my question is, as a layman, what is the easiest way to proceed in order to get the new thermostats installed? Valve replacement, or are there adapters after all?

Attached are 2 pictures of the valve and the thermostat.

Thank you very much in advance

In the picture, it looks to me no different than old valves that I know. What does not fit?

So this is what the new thermostat looks like, with the following adapters. But in my opinion, none of them fit.

I had a similar looking electric thermostat on my valves, so I also thought it wouldn't work (looked weird together), but it worked after a referencing run. I would guess it’s the big part, but it’s hard to tell from the photo.

Hello

without knowing the manufacturer of the TV base part, the thread is larger than with Heimeier and Co. and therefore not compatible.

So you will need new valve bases.

I cannot say anything about the valves, but what does surprise me is the statement from the hardware store employee that you are not allowed to work on your own heating system.

One wonders why that is.
