Change battens?

Hello everyone,

since a lot has gone wrong with my construction and I am now standing in front of my damn house with little knowledge, throwing my hands up in despair and jumping around in circles ten times, a question has arisen that I hope someone from the field can answer.

The developer recommended the Creaton Magnum to me (and as far as I know, they also installed the battens for it...), I have now learned from the building materials supplier that the shaped parts for it are very expensive and after what felt like a hundred inquiries, I finally got addresses of reference buildings. I looked at the tile and I don’t like it! I have now chosen two alternative tiles from the sample boards and other reference buildings (Creaton Sinfonie or Creaton Aureus).

Now to my question (I have already looked at Creaton’s website, but could not understand the terminology there):
What exactly is the batten spacing based on? The website mentioned something about 30/50 (are these the dimensions in mm for the batten thickness?) for all the tiles mentioned above; do they all fit on this battening? Or does the battening (batten spacing?) have to be adjusted to the tile? If that is the case, how much effort is it to change the battening again?
Questions, questions...
I couldn’t find anything useful in my Google and forum research.

Otherwise, I’ll just bite the bullet and take the Magnum...

Many thanks in advance.
Best regards, Danie

Hello Daniel

The specifications 30/50 refer to the thickness of the battens, in the past 24/48 was still possible, today this is only allowed for round-cut beaver tail tiles (Biberschwanzziegel).

The batten size is determined by the type of tile, the construction length between the eaves and the ridge batten, and the roof pitch.

There are a few tiles that have the same batten size.
Re-battening is actually not a big problem.

Best regards Sven

Hello Sven, thank you for your reply, but please only Danie, without 'l' I am a woman ;) Fortunately, I did find a pan that fits after all. I think re-lathing will be relatively expensive... Best regards Danie
