Hi everyone,
we have a central vacuum system from allaway at home, so far so good, I am very satisfied with the system itself, but not with the manufacturer when it comes to the suction tubes and suction nozzles, and now I am looking for an alternative that I can mount on the existing suction hose.
Does anyone happen to know about this? I don't need to call and ask Allaway.
Because the suction tube detached from the handle while vacuuming and simply fell onto the tiled floor, a piece of the plastic broke off and the suction tube no longer fits firmly on the handle so that it constantly slips out. The floor suction nozzle is already so worn after half a year that even with the floor brushes extended, the metal of the suction nozzle scrapes on the floor which is very unpleasant to the ear and leaves marks on the floor.
But before I rush out and buy something, I wanted to ask if anyone has any knowledge about this. The suction hoses are just pure meter goods, and then the handle is simply pushed onto the ends or, in the case of the connector piece for the suction socket, screwed on accordingly.
Best regards

What diameters do the cans or the connection nozzles have?

Hello, the hose is a standard 32 mm hose (corrugated on the outside, smooth on the inside). At the end of the hose, the handle (on which the suction tube is then attached) is simply screwed onto the spiral corrugation and anchored. Basically, a floor nozzle with suction tube and handle is needed, which is pushed/screwed onto the corrugated hose. I usually only find universal floor nozzles, but without suction tube/handle to attach to the hose...

Small off-topic question out of curiosity: why do people install something like that? What is the advantage of it in times of vacuum and cordless vacuum cleaners?

1. No fine dust and odor: The exhaust air is blown outside, so there is no more fine dust in the house (because my wife has problems with it, which we couldn't manage with our Vorwerk and Dyson vacuum cleaners), and also no odors, for example if you vacuum up things that smell intensely (example spilled pepper), then you still have it well for a long time, ok if it's scent beads, then it smells nice =)
2. Handling and endless power: No annoying vacuum cleaner anymore that you have to laboriously pull behind you, that bumps against door frames and corners, that possibly falls over on its side, whose cable is possibly too short and you have to unplug and replug, no tedious pushing back of the device when it is in the way again after reaching the corner of the room, no need to worry that the battery (if we assume a battery-powered device) runs out in a 180 sqm household (because intensive vacuuming can take a while, especially in the kids' rooms) or that you have to worry that the person who used the device before didn't plug it in.
3. Bagless container: Large 12-liter collection container, you don't have to empty it constantly like a normal vacuum cleaner, you don't need to buy bags, you just have to unlock the container, empty it into the black bin, and you're done. Unscrew the cartridge filter once and clean it outside with compressed air.
4. Power: Strong suction power and flexible application area, plug the hose into the socket in the garage and vacuum the car without having to have an additional vacuum cleaner in the garage or having to take the vacuum cleaner from inside outside. Especially with the car, I think you can never have enough power.
5. Device hangs space-saving on the wall, no vacuum cleaner that has to be placed somewhere in the corner on the floor, which may be in the way and has to be cleared again.

Moreover, even our 1000 Euro Vorwerk vacuum cleaner was not so great in terms of quality concerning the suction tube. A robot vacuum cleaner does not work in a single-family house (it can't get up the stairs) and a hose is easier to carry up the stairs than a normal vacuum cleaner.

These are my positive experiences compared to the 20 years before with normal vacuum cleaners.

The parts are a relic from the turn of the millennium nowadays almost impossible to find and in my eyes as useless as a goiter. We also had them in our house ten years ago but found it terrible to walk around with this long hose. Then you have these cans in the wall everywhere and constantly have to unplug and plug the hose back in.
