Hello everyone,

we bought a solid wood plank floor online and now want to install it ourselves. The plank floor has 3 layers and all 3 are made of wood. However, the bottom layer is often glued, cracked, and sometimes missing half a centimeter or so. I am not a parquet expert and wanted to ask you if this is normal? I have attached a picture - there are even worse spots. The product is supposed to be first grade. The top side also looks quite good, but the bottom side....

But it's just underneath... I don't know any visitor who looks from underneath under the floorboards....

Yes, of course, visually it is not a problem. I am asking if there could be any disadvantages, for example, whether floorboards could warp over time or if it is bad for the installation.

Yes, it is always nicer when everything is tiptop... but the bottom layer is just the counteracting layer for dimensional stabilization. Once it is glued, no one cares about it anymore.

As long as there is enough area for load absorption, that should not be a problem. Half a centimeter or smaller does not matter. If large pieces are missing, do not lay this plank.
