Hello,
I am new here and as an AMATEUR I am dealing with reroofing my carport in [SPANIEN].
The carport is scalene with the dimensions: 7.50m (rear) x 4.90 (one side), 3.80 (other side) x 5.50 (front). The framework is made of steel slats measuring 4 x 10cm (width x height). The carport is open on all 4 sides.
So far I had a fabric covering from boat building on it, which was not a long-term solution. Now I want to use a different material. It should be durable and fade-resistant under the intense sunlight and not bleach or discolor. Something like transparent plexiglass or acrylic glass etc. would be nice.
We have the big problem here that when it does rain, Sahara sand is often in the rainwater, which is very difficult to remove when dry. Therefore, the material should be easy to clean (with a high-pressure cleaner). Snow loads are unimportant, but it can also sometimes become hurricane-like, so break resistance and appropriate fastening should be ensured.
Please share your experiences and advice with me. I am happy to answer further detailed questions. Many thanks ingolfomas
