Hello everyone,

first of all, a Happy New Year to all. We are a newly married couple and would like to have our own house. We already have a plot of land on which we can build (Thanks [Family]). We are now considering building a solid house (1 to 2 family house) on this plot. The question is whether one can financially afford it. Our current financial situation is that together we earn about 3000€ net per month. At the moment, I cannot assess whether this amount is enough for a house or whether it is possible to put up a house without big "nightmares". Many of you probably already have experience; of course, it depends on many things, but what would the construction of such a solid house cost (roughly)?

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
arabam

Hello arabam,

the following questions appear in my crystal ball:

How much equity do you have?
How much debt is there?
What is the current cold rent?
How high is your savings rate that you have been setting aside from your salary every month (since when) to build up your equity?
