Cable connection or satellite system - which option is recommended?

Yesterday the question came up whether we want a cable connection for our house or rather a SAT system.

To be honest, I am completely clueless about that. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each solution?

I just want to press a button and have the TV work (yeah yeah, I know, blonde, female, etc...).

Can you explain to me what characterizes each option, how you decided, and why?
