Hey Community,
I have a problem with buying a house in Tirol and am looking for people who already have experience with it. The problem is as follows:
My parents (both retiring in a few months) are planning to buy a house (including 1-2 holiday apartments) in Tirol. Unfortunately, the whole thing is somewhat difficult. They want to basically buy the house now and then move in within the next 2 years. Now they've been told that they can only buy the house if they also rent out the holiday apartments immediately. Of course, my parents don't want to do that yet, because they still live here and logically will only rent out the holiday apartments once they have moved.
How should we proceed best? My idea is that they hire someone on site who can handle all these matters with the purchase through someone who definitely knows their stuff. Everything else makes little sense in my opinion. Above all, there are some offers on the Internet that sound great. Because of these offers, my parents have already traveled to Tirol twice and were disappointed each time because the photos looked great but on site they found that the houses were partly extremely dilapidated. The renovation would have simply cost too much time and money. On top of that is the thing with the holiday apartments and we have zero knowledge of Austrian law.
So if anyone has info for us – also good real estate agents – please get in touch! Thank you!
