Hello everyone,
I am currently considering which building services technology we want to implement. Here are a few questions.

Electric roller shutters:
If I am already doing KNX, is it sensible to wire the roller shutters on a KNX basis as well?
The requirement is basically only open/close and time programming. So conventional or KNX, is there a big cost difference?

KNX:
I want to dim and time-control several lights (about 10 pcs on the ground floor).

I want to monitor window contacts as burglary protection.
Partially switch sockets.

All consumers off. Is that possible or is it a big effort?

Heating control, time-controlled.

What do you think? Furthermore, I want to lay multi-core cables to possibly expand everything later.
Is the cost very high for my requirements? What else do you find sensible to implement?

Do you have any tips? The conversation with my electrician is still pending.

Thanks.

So if you want to use KNX anyway, it often even becomes cheaper for roller shutters with KNX than conventional with group switches, etc.

Turning off all consumers is not a problem... with KNX

Heating control, on the other hand, is rather nonsense unless you build with radiators and not according to the energy saving ordinance... which is hardly possible...

What should be implemented? Simply have the green cable installed everywhere into every box and connect all sockets/heating points with 5x1.5...

Otherwise, there are already many suggestions about electrical work and so on in the forum... just search for it

We have similar requirements, which we are currently implementing with Loxone. Take a look at our blog; in the latest post, all the cables and switches we have added are listed along with a price list - this way you can roughly estimate what costs what. We are now investing €7000 in home automation, but only the essentials are connected. To get everything the way we envision, more extensions and sensors are needed, and they are too expensive for us at this stage of construction. Overall, it will probably be around €10,000 for us.

I am currently at the same point and have bought the book: " Heimautomation mit KNX, DALI, 1-Wire und Co.: Das umfassende Handbuch. Das Standardwerk für zukünftige Smart Home Besitzer. " I can highly recommend it, everything is described in great detail, especially if you want to plan something yourself...
