Building plot Speckgürtel Hamburg

my partner and I have been looking for a plot of land for quite a long time. We live in Hamburg and, like many at the moment, would like to build in the [Speckgürtel].

I recently spoke with a municipality in [Südholstein], where there are over 1000 applications for 25 plots.. You have to wonder, is it even worth applying there?

Even further north the situation isn’t any better.. What has been your experience?

So far, I am on a waiting list. There are 15 plots available in the town, I am in 26th place..

It's completely normal. Like playing the lottery.. ;)

With the current price increases and disruptions in construction and the first interest rate hikes, the chapter on new buildings is likely to be a thing of the past for more and more people. Where are the current m² prices in the communities?

I think you have a good chance. Some will drop out. Be glad that they are not traded against [Gebot].

I also think that only 11 positions behind cutoff is quite good. In our construction area, out of 19 plots, a total of nine parties have dropped out, and that was just last year.

If there are a thousand applicants for twenty-five plots, by my estimate about four hundred people will not have asked themselves your question but will have simply applied here as well. Many will have three or more irons in the fire.
