Hello everyone,
I’ll briefly summarize.
We engaged a company recommended to us by my parents for a bungalow extension. This company had already built an extension for my parents, and it wasn’t bad at all.
However, with us, several things got completely out of hand. I don’t want to go into details now. In the end, in autumn 2020, we involved the Bauherren-Schutzbund with an expert, but ultimately they couldn’t help us out of this situation either. At the beginning of December, it was agreed one last time with the general contractor that he should/may fix the defects. An appointment had already been set but was postponed indefinitely due to bad weather.

So, until today we haven’t heard anything more from the contractor. Actually, we don’t want to anymore. We have paid our tuition and now want peace. Now to my questions:

We have not yet been handed a final invoice. Will an authority eventually approach us and ask if the extension is completed? Land registry office? Or will everything now just fizzle out?

Kind regards from the Rhineland
JW

Your post comes across as a bit jittery and incoherent. But if your only question is whether "the office" will come to enforce the completion of the construction measure, the answer is: Look in the building permit. Everything is stated there. But generally rather: No, because you as the builder officially notify the completion of construction (completion notice) to the building authority with a notification of the same name. Afterwards, acceptance procedures and surveying may follow. However, my impression is that the real problem lies somewhere else ...?!

Then perhaps you should actually elaborate, reveal some things here so that advice can be given to you. Why couldn't he help?

Why don't you set a new date?
Is it rather about communication difficulties? Insight? Stubbornness?

In short. We signed a contract that you actually shouldn’t sign. Trusted too much, too naive ... Took a hard hit!

We put a lot of effort/energy into it. My wife became seriously ill during this time. Not to be misunderstood. This doesn’t necessarily have to do with all the trouble. But we just can’t anymore and don’t want to either. When the contractor canceled on me at the beginning of December, I asked him to please let me know early enough if he has time to come!

What is it all about? About an extension that ‘went wrong’? Tell me step by step...

I am just wondering why the title of the [Strang's] was changed?
