Hello.
The building application specifies living and usable areas, as well as the volume of the building.
1) Basically: What is the purpose of this information? Is it used to calculate property tax?
2) In my case, areas in the basement that are intended to be converted into a bathroom/sauna and a kitchenette in many years are counted as living space, although according to my understanding, at the time of completion of the building they will only be storage space – i.e., usable area – for several years. Is it sensible to specify it this way, or will I face disadvantages?
3) The building volume is then used to calculate construction costs. What does the building authority do with it (other than deriving application fees)?
I hope you can provide me with some clarity...
