Hello... This question has been on my mind for a long time... are houses allowed to be built during Corona? Our construction start would be on 11.1 and I am a bit worried that Corona might throw a wrench in the works. Has anyone of you built during Corona or were there any problems or bans? Best regards

The construction industry is allowed to work. What is occasionally heard from clients are problems/delays with material deliveries or, of course, when companies have a reduced number of employees due to quarantine/sick leave.

Working is allowed, someone has to finance this whole operation anyway ;) You might need to check if you run into conflicts with rules when doing your own work (multiple households, curfews from 8 PM, more than 15 km from your residence, and all the other nonsense that comes up) And Corona won’t last that much longer. From Easter on, it will get better anyway because of the weather, and by next autumn the vaccination will be widespread enough that not much will happen anymore.

As the previous speakers have already written, building is allowed and will take place. There may possibly be shortages in materials or manpower. Restriction of your freedom of movement, hardware stores closed... at least pickup should soon be possible again (at least in BW). It is not over that quickly. I would not hope for warm temperatures. Even in Asia, despite high temperatures, there are high infection numbers... Nothing will change as long as there is not sufficient vaccination.

We are currently building, our house setup was at the beginning of November. So far, there have been no significant delays due to Corona. The heating engineer had Corona and was therefore in quarantine for 2 weeks. However, this was compensated by other trades. In general, it seems to me that our general contractor currently plans a lot of buffer time into the schedule. The plan is also designed so that actually only one trade is allowed in the house at the same time. With self-build houses, you are probably more likely to have problems at the moment. Private construction helpers are private and fall under the Corona regulations. Actually, you are now only allowed to have one helper in the house. But true, the situation with hardware stores is annoying. I also had to order everything online now, and then you wait again ...

There is no better time for building a house than during [Corona]. Everyone is doing [HomeOffice] or short-time work and is busy working frantically on the house themselves. That saves a lot of money! There are also many government aids that make building a house cheaper :)

So, get to work.
