Hello everyone,
we are planning to build a carport with the option for a wooden garage at our new construction.
The whole thing should have a width of 3.90 m and a length of about 13.0 m.
Now we are facing some questions about the best way to do it.
We cannot screw anything to the house, it should stand freely but still directly against the house wall.
On one side of the yard, I have built a garden wall made of 17 cm shuttering blocks; these rest on a 35 cm foundation. Can the post holders be anchored there or would a point foundation in the yard be better???
On the house side, we have built a point foundation (frost-proof 40*40).
My plan is actually that the support posts are made of 12x12 or 14x14 glulam beams and the rest from 8x16 glulam beams.
Part of the carport will be separated as a storage room.
The spaces between the posts should be cladded and then plastered in the house color so that the support posts protrude by 1 cm.
What will the wall construction be here from outside to inside???
The roof will possibly be covered with sandwich panels.
The basic framework should be made by a carpenter; I would like to do the rest myself.
Regards
