Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, we had to find out today that there was some serious shoddy work done on the construction of the roof scaffolding.

As you can see, the wood is seriously damaged.
Is the ridge gap too wide?
And the screws should have been screwed into the purlin heads above the roof rafters, right?
What do you think about this?
The site manager is coming tomorrow, and I would like to discuss this with him. What is usually done in this situation? Replacement is surely no longer possible since the roof is already half finished.
The only option I see is a repair and a credit from the prefab house provider. How high should one set this in such a case?

Sorry, that was a lot of questions. I hope someone knows their way around this area or has possibly (unfortunately) had the same experiences.
I would appreciate your opinions!

Best regards
flavah

Truly not beautiful, but it does its job. Surely nothing will happen, repairs will also be difficult, and I think it won't be visible from below, right?

Certainly not well done craft-wise, but as already said, it will hold (if the missing screw(s) are screwed in). Also, visibility from 8 meters below is certainly limited. But I think the botched job can still be fixed. Place a suitably painted diamond shape in the middle at the top to cover the gap. The screws (which, technically, should have been screwed in from the other side) can be plastered over and painted.

I would complain about both, with us two spots from the transport were also slightly "damaged". After the painters were there, nothing was visible anymore.

I would have the ridge boarded up, as already said. The screws on the middle purlins were probably set to pull the rafter to the purlin before screwing from above. If it doesn't fit 100%, it can't be avoided. I was able to observe that with us as well.

Thank you very much for your answers and opinions! Ah, it still annoys you when you have a prefabricated house set up by a supposed premium provider. But then the craftsmanship is done so poorly :/

Who is the premium manufacturer? I think it can be repaired and you won't see anything anymore.
