Hello everyone,

today the blown-in insulation was installed in our house as between-rafter insulation.
There was quite a lot of dust during the process. We had assumed this would not be the case, but that the insulation material would be applied fairly precisely into the space between the rafters.
Is it normal for it to be so dusty? How do you get the dust out of the house again? The craftsman has apparently already vacuumed, but surely there is still a lot of dust on the walls and the foil, right?

Thank you very much.

I cannot recall any particular dust problem during the process. At that time, the construction progress was also not yet so advanced that one would have had to think about dusting.

Hello Hampshire, Thank you very much for your message. Are you satisfied with the blown-in insulation? I was really surprised that it was so dusty during the installation; the carpenter had told me otherwise beforehand. Also, the underlay membrane bulges several centimeters into the room interior; is it like that for you too? And then I found a small hole in the underlay membrane, which makes me doubt how tight the whole thing is, or whether material will leak out sooner or later and lead to dust pollution in the indoor air. Thank you very much for your experience!

You stick a strip of Ampacoll tape over the hole; that lasts for centuries...

That shouldn't bulge...

Yes, the house is obviously well insulated and there were no particular problems. The holes were taped off as written by . Nothing is bulging. Maybe I have a different wall construction.
