Hello everyone,

our blower door test failed with a result of -2.3. Apparently, the craftsmen didn’t do a proper job. I want to start looking myself now. Clarification with the craftsmen is ongoing in parallel but is taking too long. Unfortunately :-(

I could borrow a simple fog machine. Then I would also need a fan. Would a wind machine that you put in a small window and tape up be enough? They manage about 700 m³/h.

It’s supposed to be just a rough error search. After that, a professional should come again.

Are there any tips from the pros here?

Doesn't the troubleshooting start immediately after the test? You can feel the leaks directly in the pressure! The site manager should also be present, as well as a responsible craftsman

In brief, greetings

The tester just said that there were too many places without specifying further. So he didn’t even start looking. It was a Friday afternoon at 4:00 PM. He just wanted to go home. That’s my feeling.

Moin Moin

The defects will be rectified during the test.
This is usually not the task of the inspector, but of the craftsman.

It does not help that you are now taking action yourself.

I assume that you are building the house with a [GU]? In this respect, it is not your problem at all to find the leaks. However, you should make sure that something happens, possibly ask for a statement from the site manager! Best regards in brief
