Hello, can someone please tell me what this bar (see picture) is or if it can be removed without any problems?

I can't imagine that it is just lying around there without a function ....

I have also seen an attic where a beam is arranged like that. That is why I would also assume that it has a structural function and that it must not be removed. If the beam bothers you, you will have to get a structural engineer to assess it.

I would be interested to know what is in the story below, especially at the spot where you can see the dowels. Google 'Ankerbalken', looks like something like that to me. Then this beam takes up shear forces from the walls below and should not just be removed.

Thank you, Mali, Below there is currently a plastered ceiling. You cannot see the two screws.
