Hello everyone,

we received our bathroom planning for our new build today.

For us, the following was important:

[*]Shower with one side built up with a storage niche
    [*]Privacy partition for the toilet
    [*]Storage space near the bathtub
    [*]Double washbasin

Regarding the double washbasin, I see the problem that the access to the shower is too narrow. The shower is designed so that you can walk into it - we don't want to have a partition at the entrance with a length of 1.2 m. If a washbasin is placed too close to the entrance, I fear this effect will be lost.

I see the following options here:

[*]Reduce the shower size, e.g. to 90x90 + access door
[*]Or give up the second washbasin in favor of a larger shower

What do you think?

The shower wall is quite short at 1.25m and the floor beneath the first washbasin is a potential flood zone.

Is anything still movable? Door? Window? Yes, 1.20 is too short. The washbasin really obstructs the passage. Entrance with the view towards a wall is also not inviting.

How much space is there exactly between the end of the shower wall and the first washbasin?

In our rental apartment, we have a 115 cm shower just like you, also without a shower door, and after 65 cm the first washbasin, and nothing is missing there at all. I have never showered so comfortably.

How wide should the double washbasin be? Maybe you can take one that is not quite as wide, ours is 126 cm wide.

The bathroom door should then simply open the other way....

Maybe the shower can also be separated with glass and this shelf omitted. The shelf may seem practical at first glance, but also consider that water constantly gets in there as well as soap residues remain, and you have to clean it after every use, which makes it less practical. I find glass brighter and also friendlier when entering. A wall does not look particularly inviting, as ypg also wrote. If you open the door differently, you can make the glass partition completely (also where the washbasin is) and allow the entrance to the shower at the front with a door.

An answer to this would be important first.
