Hello everyone,
I have a question for the gentlemen (and ladies) of the trade:

The plumbing company that installed and mounted our bathroom components (toilet, tub, shower, etc.) charged separately in one invoice for all the drillings in the wall area.
Reason: Since floor tiles were laid on the wall and these are thicker, there is therefore a higher time expenditure when drilling the holes for the shower enclosure, washbasins.

Is something like this usual?
(According to the tiler, it is "normal" nowadays for floor tiles to be installed on walls as well)

At first glance, it sounds like a rip-off to me...

Many thanks for your feedback!

We also had the floor tiles installed on the wall in the bathroom. It just looks great because the unity of wall/floor really comes into its own. :)

PS regarding the actual question:

No extra charge was applied for this in our case.

Does your provider belong more to the low-cost or cheap-price providers? Or did you build with an architect and therefore also commissioned the plumbing company yourself? Rhineland regards

Hello,

I have never heard of an extra charge for that either.

We also partly have floor tiles on the wall as an accent (stripes in the shower), but there were no additional costs for that...

Regards,

Dirk

No additional costs were charged by the general contractor for the sampling on our side either, as this is now rather common. However, tiling has not yet been done with us. Nevertheless, we have always been able to rely on the statements of our general contractor so far!
