Hello,
we are currently planning our bathroom, the position of the elements is roughly fixed, before the plumbing company can start, we need to define the floor structure more precisely.
In the other rooms, we have a relatively high floor structure of about 28 cm, as it is an uninsulated concrete slab, on top of which there is a thick layer of wood fiber insulation and a plank floor.
In the bathroom, XPS combined with leveling fill and dry screed boards is to be used, with floor tiles as the surface.
What would be a good structure?
Does this basically make sense to achieve the high height?
01 Concrete slab
02 Vapor barrier
03 Leveling fill
04 Dry screed board e.g. Vidiwall as a flat base for the insulation
05 XPS boards for insulation
06 Dry screed board e.g. Brio as a base for the tiles
07 Tiles
We only want to install a shower due to space reasons, no bathtub, here the question is how the shower tray can be insulated from below?
Best regards
Jens
