Morning,

the renovation of our old little house is now entering the final phase. Since today, the plasterers are coming in. In our small bathroom, we have tiled over the already existing tiles up to a height of 1.20m, the rest up to the ceiling will be plastered. We have newly suspended the ceiling and equipped it with spotlights. All ceilings in the house are to be wallpapered, with textured wallpaper, therefore also the bathroom. Here I am a bit conflicted, regarding the bathroom and wallpaper, what experiences have you had with textured wallpaper in the bathroom, especially directly above the shower? Recommended?

I would prefer textured paint in this area; THAT IS IN the bathroom, or paint without wallpaper. Whether it holds up or causes problems depends as much on the application as on the showering and ventilation habits of the users.

I would have concerns about a suspended ceiling in the bathroom with recessed lights. Depending on what is on the floor above, condensation failure may occur. Why not plaster the ceiling as well, those few square meters can't cost that much.
