Basement wall thickness (not external)? Recess meter cabinet/charge controller?

Hello.

In the basement anteroom, a new two-way meter was installed in a surface-mounted cabinet, and two charge controllers were screwed to the wall possibly 8 years ago.
Would it be possible to install the equipment flush-mounted by removing material? During the installation, part of a wrought iron coat rack was removed.
It's still lying around. That way it could be re-mounted, and the charge controllers could be hidden behind it. At least if jackets are hanging on it.
And the cabinet would no longer take up the space next to the sofa where a table is placed.
The wall does not lead outside. Behind it is either soil or foundation (which would be a very thick "wall").

How is that supposed to work? A meter cabinet is about 20 cm deep. You would need castle walls to recess it damage-free into the wall.

In my opinion, only interior walls do not go "outward." What do you mean by that statement? (Soil is also "outside," after all.)

Then just make an opening in the interior wall. Where is the problem? Oh, there is the problem. You are storing earth behind the interior wall. That also explains your space problem ;) Take a photo or upload a plan. Then it will be easier to understand.

Sounds like very much effort for a wardrobe. Maybe it is cheaper and possible to build another wardrobe solution in front of the devices. The whole thing must remain accessible anyway – whether in or on the wall. Consider air circulation and cooling needs of the electronics.

It’s not about the wardrobe itself, but that the stuff there “decorates” the wall and protrudes into the room. They just thought “quickly” put it somewhere. The cables in pipe sections along the wall with clamps. They would of course come flush-mounted. They should have given the dimensions of the cabinet and the inverters beforehand and could have asked to find or create space for it.

I checked this on the plan (Google: Flachdachbungalow F115). It’s not directly at the edge of the house, but only because of the extension which is not as old as the house itself. So the wall is probably the direct exterior wall at the front after all. No idea how deep they dug there back then and whether and how they connected the old foundation with the new one.

Isn’t there some kind of foil or layer on the exterior wall? For example something like tar paper?

The roughly measured alternative would be to concentrate all that stuff under the stairs on the wall. The large sealed house connection has external screws in the wall. So it could be loosened from the wall and shifted a bit. Only the meter cabinet has the screws in the theoretically sealed area. However, the electrician who hung it did put two lead seals and one plastic one on the meter, but not on the cover underneath that connects the main connection to the meter. There is an orange plastic screw with the option to pull a wire through… without wire.

I can take photos, but it’s a wall under the stairs where the house connection is. I already informed Westnetz for now. And on their possibly upcoming response, I will mention that the box should still be movable even after sealing. If not, only the 230 angle grinder circular saw and the SDS-Max rotary hammer would remain. Then the part would have to be removed with a piece of wall o_O. It’s questionable if a manufacturer places the screws that hold something on the wall in the sealed area. It can be unconsidered, but it can also be illegitimate protection of privileges. Because legally there is nothing against moving a sealed box, since it is also closed at the back.
