Hello,

does it make sense to have the tile bases also laid behind the kitchen unit? For aesthetic reasons, it wouldn't make any sense...

I would now go ahead and have the kitchen installed first and then have the bases "abut" against the kitchen unit.

And what if you install a new kitchen in a few years and change the layout? I would/will have the plinth installed all around.

Best regards

Sascha

Hello Sascha, thank you for the response. The kitchen itself cannot be changed because of the layout. It could only be a little bigger or smaller. Still, thanks for the food for thought!

What is recommended: seal the wall to the floor under the kitchen with a silicone joint (if you are not installing a baseboard). If water runs down behind the kitchen unit, it cannot get into the gap there. With a baseboard, you would do that anyway.

That will definitely be done. Better safe than sorry...

Once you are working on the tiles, you should definitely go ahead with it... I agree. But I'm sure you have long since finished with it by now
