Hello everyone,
the base plaster is currently being applied on our prefabricated house (without a basement). There were a few holes in the base insulation. It is quite possible that these damages occurred during the house installation (I am also attaching two pictures of the foundation slab before the house was erected). Most of the holes were quite small and not very deep, but two holes were quite large and the insulation was really completely through there. The excavation company had actually promised us to fill the two holes.
However, the plasterer insisted on starting today and then filled the holes with PU foam on his own without consultation (although based on the pictures I’m not sure if he really filled them; unfortunately I was not on site today, only my wife was). As far as we know, PU foam should only be used for holes/gaps up to 1 cm. Do you think this solution with PU foam could cause problems later? Or is it less problematic because sealing slurry will be applied in this area anyway?
We are also not sure if the base plaster extends far enough down. Is there a minimum depth? Because the base plaster does not even come close to reaching the bottom edge of the perimeter insulation. Is it a problem if the perimeter insulation is in contact with the soil without additional sealing?
Thank you very much in advance for your help!
