Hello everyone,

I have 2 questions
can someone explain to me what the difference between a [Sockelfarbe] and a [Fassadenfarbe] is?

Can I also paint the facade with a [Sockelfarbe] or vice versa?

Thank you all
best regards

Hello,

Color is first of all color - regardless of its various types and uses.

What you probably mean is a base coat plaster, which should be designed in such a way that moisture cannot penetrate the masonry; that’s also why, as a rule, a bitumen thick coating is applied before a "base color" is applied. Most builders have these painted in gray because splashes from the soil in rain do not show as much.

However, you can paint your whole house with this color

Kind regards

No, I don't mean base plaster. My house is finished because I bought it a year ago. However, I have some spots on the base and on the facade that I should repair. That's why I'm asking what the difference is between base paint and facade paint. Both base paint and facade paint are sold, so what is the difference? As far as I know, both paints are water-repellent or ????? but what is the difference... There's no free base and facade paint anyway. Best regards to everyone
