Hello,
I am planning to install a new kitchen soon. It should be one from the Metod range.

Now, the spatial situation is a bit complicated. Next to the "main wall," to which all the "smaller" (max. 80 cm high) appliances are supposed to go (dishwasher, cooktop, sink, ...) there is another wall to the right, where I actually want to place the larger cabinets (refrigerator, built-in oven, etc.). Now the situation is that this right wall is interrupted by an 80-82 cm wide (and 29 cm deep) rectangular "pillar" starting from the back corner after about 177 cm.

My idea was to simply work with normal base cabinets (including a corner base cabinet) up to this obstacle. The large cabinets would then come after this pillar. On the other hand, a continuous front line would somehow look nicer.

Therefore, a question: what would you advise me? Is there a way to create a continuous front line? I would like to use the dark carcasses and have considered whether you can cut off the rear part of the 40 cm deep ones and still somehow use them. Or alternatively, products/shelves from other systems (Billy for example), although I do not know whether they match in color and whether, for example, 40 cm wide doors from the Ringhult series can be attached to them!?

I am open to any suggestions. To illustrate the conditions, I have attached a photo of the relevant problematic side.

Thanks in advance..

Hello,

the cabinet can be shortened, but the drillings for the cabinet connection (eccentric connectors and wooden dowels) as well as – if desired – the rows of holes for the (also to be shortened) shelves must definitely be repositioned. It would be easier to leave the 37-depth base cabinets as they are and place them flush with the back panel at the recess. Then pull the base cabinets with 60 depth forward so that a flush front is created and mount a deeper countertop (Personlig or from the hardware store) on top.
