I had our bathroom renovated and converted to "barrier-free" in October.

In advance, the KFW bank was contacted regarding a subsidy and a subsidy of 10% of the total costs was promised.

Then we started the process, submitted the invoices at the end, and received an acknowledgment of receipt.

That was at the end of November 2019.

At the end of January, I asked how far the process had progressed. Answer: "That will take a while, please be patient."

At the end of March, I asked again by email and only received an acknowledgment of receipt with the request not to inquire again due to work overload, the process was in progress, and they would get back to me.

Is such a long processing time of about 5 months the norm?

Thanks for comments and regards, Sony

No, but Corona with all its consequences is also not the norm. Please give priority to the companies that would otherwise go bankrupt without KfW support. The guys and girls at KfW could work 24/7 and the piles of work would still keep growing.

In November, there was no Corona problem yet. Why don't you call?

Calling is also an idea. However, I do not want to completely ignore the advice from KFW to refrain from further inquiries. I need to weigh that up again.

And thirdly, I would urgently need the grant myself and want to avoid it "slipping through the cracks" due to circumstances.

Of course, I give priority to businesses threatened by the Corona crisis. That is important for them, and my question has nothing to do with "begrudging" them. It aims to find out whether anyone has had experience with how long such a payment usually takes in the "normal case" and ...

...whether the grants could possibly be lost to me.

No, they will just come later. You can call, but it won't have any effect. The KfW is currently not interested in (from their and society's point of view) unimportant matters.
