BAFA funding rejected due to deadline overrun

Our approval from BAFA for the funding of our heat pump was now retroactively rejected because our heat pump was installed a whole 11 days after the approval period. Now my question: Is there any chance that an objection would be successful given the ridiculous delay for which, of course, we are not to blame because our heating installers were simply incompetent?

I suspect no. It would have been wise to proactively approach the BAFA and ask for leniency. There are nice people working there who don't wish you any harm. In hindsight, I consider that difficult. Just try it, you have nothing to lose. And next time, don't let the child fall into the well in the first place.

At least before the deadline expires, one can apply for an extension of the deadline by one year without any problems. Now it might still be possible with some luck.

The heating engineer could draft a document stating that the delay was caused by force majeure through no fault of their own. Corona was accepted as a reason for a while.
