Average wall height of a half-hipped roof?

Hello,

I want to newly build a garage with a clipped gable roof in Berlin. The roof surfaces are all inclined at <45°. I have to maintain an average wall height of 3m. Therefore my question is: How is the average wall height calculated on the eaves and gable sides? (Wall + ridge height)/2, or are the roof surfaces disregarded due to the inclination? I would be very grateful for a reliable source reference!

Have you found that out by now?

This is stated in the respective state building regulations under "Abstandsflächen", usually §6, although the description and thus the calculation is sometimes not easy to understand. In the end, however, it does not really matter because you need an architect for a building application anyway; they know how the wall height is calculated and the building application is checked again.

In Berlin, garages are permitted with a roof up to Max <45° if they meet certain criteria; the roof is then disregarded when calculating the wall height, unless the gable faces the boundary. If the eave is on the boundary, this is allowed.
