Hello dear people,
my grandmother owns a house, in the attic of which I want to build a home studio.
During wartime, a bomb fell into the house. You can still see this in the attic. The floor is partly cement and partly wooden boards. The wooden boards are from before the war.
Unfortunately, I have no idea about construction, I am a complete beginner in this field.
On the one hand, I want to make sure that the floor is safe and can bear enough weight. On the other hand, I want to insulate it so that little sound penetrates downwards.
How do I check the safety? Should I call a mason?
I cannot assess such things myself and unfortunately I have no parents or relatives who can help me. My grandmother is too old for something like this.
I hope someone can give me an initial assessment and tell me how to proceed with such a project.
Thanks and best regards
