Hello dear forum,

I would like to install a pull-up bar in my basement. The interior walls suitable for this (like most of the house walls) are made of lightweight aggregate blocks (Liapor), which are said to have somewhat lower strength than normal bricks. The bar will be mounted to the wall with 8 screws (12 mm). Does anyone perhaps have experience with this material or can I do this (possibly only with certain anchors)? Or will the bar fall off the wall when in use (and then I along with it...)?

Many thanks and best regards

I think your question is valid. Screw the rod to 1.50 m, nothing can go wrong. But seriously. The manufacturer of the bricks has a hotline, they know how it works. If necessary, there are assembly professionals, you can find them just the same. They can also provide advice. It will probably come down to gluing with epoxy resin. But I don't want to give you bad advice.

For our staircase, core drillings were made in the aerated concrete, then filled, and the steps were anchored in them to prevent the individual steps from moving.

Just do it and set up a camera, with a bit of luck you'll create a great fail video!
