Hello everyone!
Tomorrow our [Verfüger] finally arrives and on Sunday we can install motion detectors, outdoor lights, mailbox, doorbell, and house number!
It's slowly getting cozy!

Unfortunately, our doorbell plate and house number have no holes for mounting!

How do I best attach these things (stainless steel) to the brick or in the joint?

I would really prefer that the things don't come loose by themselves the first winter and smash on the ground...

Yes, drill corresponding holes, countersink and plug and indeed use assembly adhesive, or silicone (for outside!!)

I understand the question like this: is it better to fasten in the brick or in the joint? Do the stainless steel signs themselves have no holes for screws? (that’s how it reads to me) Then a fastening method should be suggested in an installation manual? Mounting adhesive can hold up great for a few years, but will probably fail eventually. For a house, I find durability periods of 50 years not exaggerated. Both the doorbell sign and the house number will probably stay in the spot once set, so I would work with screws, because holes won’t be annoying after moving, like what can happen with a hole for a hook in bathroom tiles, for example.

If you do not want to damage the signs and want long-lasting durability, then buy a frame for the signs. You screw this frame together, and the signs go into it. A frame can either surround the signs like a picture frame or consist of only two opposite profiles.

Do you need a doorbell nameplate? Is it homemade? Then adhesive mounting glue, because it will certainly be replaced at some point.
No house number? I would buy a new one.

I have now drilled 2 holes through the house number and fixed it with plugs.

I attached the doorbell nameplate with silicone adhesive.
