Our basket arch above the future front door was built and looks like this:

In my opinion, the joint distribution in the arch should look like this (poor image editing):


Opinions among friends and family range from "What do you even mean?" to "Oh, that's not acceptable at all!"
About twenty examined house entrances with sandstone elements have a strictly symmetrical structure.

First question (visually): What do you think?
Second question (technically): Can stones be removed from an arch, or would it possibly have to be completely uncovered from above again?

The bricklayer wasn't paying attention. The correction isn't that complicated, so I would have it changed accordingly. It stays like that "forever". ;)
