Hello everyone,
I recently bought my first Ikea piece of furniture (Brimnes bed) and now face the challenge of assembling it with my limited handyman skills. Unfortunately, I ran into the first problems quite early. Specifically, I tried to assemble the "bed cross" using the plastic(!!!) cam connectors. It actually holds quite well, although I expected a firmer grip. However, when I slide the slats on the long side for the frame under the cross, the connection I screwed together with the cams sags. Is that supposed to be the case or allowed? I have a bit of a fear that this is not intended and that the stability of the bed will suffer. Have you had similar experiences with the bed or know of any tips that could help?
I would be very grateful for your help, otherwise, after moving, I’ll probably have to sleep on the floor.
