Hello everyone,

I recently bought my first Ikea piece of furniture (Brimnes bed) and now face the challenge of assembling it with my limited handyman skills. Unfortunately, I ran into the first problems quite early. Specifically, I tried to assemble the "bed cross" using the plastic(!!!) cam connectors. It actually holds quite well, although I expected a firmer grip. However, when I slide the slats on the long side for the frame under the cross, the connection I screwed together with the cams sags. Is that supposed to be the case or allowed? I have a bit of a fear that this is not intended and that the stability of the bed will suffer. Have you had similar experiences with the bed or know of any tips that could help?
I would be very grateful for your help, otherwise, after moving, I’ll probably have to sleep on the floor.

Hello, I can't imagine how something could be sagging there. Can you upload a photo?

I have not assembled the BRIMNES yet, but I do think that the two crossboards should fully rest against the longitudinal board once all four eccentrics are tightened. Holes can sometimes be slightly inaccurate. The centers of the large holes must be exactly 34 mm from the edge of the crossboards.

Thanks for the info! I will measure that exactly, by now (after I disassembled everything again) an eccentric cam (No. 119030) doesn't catch at all anymore.. Can you get these eccentric cams individually at Ikea or do you always have to order the entire screw/parts set for the bed?

Hello,
unfortunately I have the same problem.
Were you able to solve this problem somehow?
My bed is set up, but it is not stable. You can hear every movement.
Thanks for the info
