Are there still toilet seats available for this type of toilet bowl?

Hello!

We are not building. We are tenants and I am a bit puzzled, which is why I registered here. I really hope there are some experts around who can help.

We have an Ideal Standard toilet bowl (it was installed by the landlords about 15 or more years ago). The place where the toilet seat is attached/fixed is not flat but slopes upward a few centimeters towards the wall. I have attached a photo.

Are there even toilet seats available for this design? We don’t want an expensive original. It is a D-shaped seat and there are many models from Wenko, for example. But with the type of fastening I am completely overwhelmed. What is the name of such toilet bowls like ours? Is there a special term for the seats for it?

Maybe you could show the model of the toilet. Maybe someone has installed it themselves. There must be a product sheet somewhere where the connection is listed. Otherwise: isn’t it the landlord’s responsibility to replace it, that is, if it has to be done because of a break or something?

Even my former tenant didn’t try that – and he really complained about every little thing.

Otherwise, I only know this connection directly from the manufacturer...

I have made some progress. The toilet itself is the AERO model from Ideal Standard. It is no longer manufactured. The toilet seat is apparently still available as a spare part. It has the article number K700401, where 01 stands for white (alpine) (according to the spare parts sheet from Ideal Standard). But I also can’t get much further with third-party suppliers. The lid is not broken either. It’s just very old and no longer looks nice. That’s why we want to replace it ourselves. This is definitely not the landlord’s responsibility. It’s not broken. It just doesn’t look nice anymore. Too bad. I had hoped there would be a third-party supplier somewhere where the lid is not so expensive.

There is usually a clause in the rental agreement... limit of €100 or something similar. If it were broken or damaged, why should a tenant worry if it’s obvious that you can’t just get away with it that easily?!

Okay, I would actually try to install a standard one. The hinge spacing might all fit, and for the concave molding or the front gap you could use some spacers. But actually, shouldn’t they adjust at the back in the slope?

Have a look on eBay with the details Aero ideal Standard toilet seat. Something was shown to me on Google. To my knowledge, the shape is allowed and can vary slightly.
