Hello dear forum,
we are in the process of building a single-family house (slope location) in Hesse. After obtaining numerous offers regarding the structural engineering, exactly one offer pointed out that due to a "filling height" of more than 4.0m an additional independent structural engineer must be commissioned. Thus, one point of the existing 10 in the criteria catalog of the NBVO is not fulfilled. In consultation with the structural engineers who did not point out this issue to us, it would still not be a problem. Therefore, the additional independent structural engineer could be omitted.
I am now somewhat torn. Basically, one structural engineer says we need an independent structural engineer, the other says we do not need one and can save the money, and my architect is somewhat "neutral," but would like it to be fixed in writing should I decide against the independent structural engineer.
What is your opinion?
