Aquarium in the kitchen

the new kitchen as such is already planned and purchased.
But since the rest of the kitchen furniture is also up for review, I am currently considering where or on what to place our aquarium. Since the thing with water, sand, and stones certainly weighs 200 kg, the base cabinet must of course be correspondingly stable. Unfortunately, I cannot find any information on how many kilos the Metod base cabinets can bear.

Maybe you also have a good alternative suggestion for which bench, chest, or shelf can be permanently loaded with so much weight.

Hello, a Metod cabinet should be able to support that, especially if the cabinet is mounted on the wall. The information for the legs provides a clue: 125 kg/leg, so 500 kg with 4 legs. To be sure, you can ask the question again to Ikea via their Facebook page.

I also have an aquarium in the kitchen on a Metod base cabinet... I placed a square wooden beam under the countertop between both side walls of the base cabinet and fixed it to the side walls with brackets - I wanted to prevent the countertop from bending.

How many liters are we talking about in your case...?
