We have a question

Our plasterers did the exterior plastering, and when removing the [folie], we found that all the [Simsen] (anodized aluminum) are damaged. They are all covered with huge spots caused by the plaster which attacked the surface.

Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have experience with what could be done so they don’t look so unsightly.

Regards

All "Simsen" means exterior window sills? Do you have any pictures?

Yes, it happened to us too and no, we didn't manage to make them 'nice' again... now the sills just have stains.

Hello Nofret

I had hoped that there might still be a possibility to somewhat limit or fix the damage.

if there are scratches, you obviously can't get them out like that. if there is something on top, you can of course wash it off again. to me it looks like the protective layer has undergone a chemical reaction with the plastering material. then it is hardly salvageable. if it's a new building, report the damage to the construction manager/construction company and have it fixed.
