Hello,
first of all, this is the continuation and the new findings regarding the post in the following link:
Briefly again about the problem: As soon as the sun comes out, the windows/frames crack. The cause has now apparently been found. It is due to the anthracite-colored aluminum roller shutter rails. These were provisionally covered with a white metal cover and the cracking has been greatly reduced. Unfortunately, it still happens too often and the white covers are not exactly an eye-catcher (pictures below).
The window company and the builder now say the following: 1. Apparently, there are no guidelines for the installation of the roller shutter rails. 2. The roller shutter rail cannot be decoupled. It is screwed onto the plastic frame. But the rail is also built into the facade and the ETICS would have to be destroyed.
The issue is really annoying now and ultimately the cracking must stop. What do you think about this? What do you think about a private expert opinion?
Thank you
