Hello everyone, do we have a few smart home experts here? I would like to play an automated text from Alexa through the camera when motion is detected by a Ring outdoor camera. For example, if a person is detected at night, Alexa should say "Object is alarm secured" through the speaker of the camera. I can't really get any further with a routine in the Alexa app. Thank you very much for your help.

I can't imagine right now how the camera is supposed to distinguish small animals from the thief.

Setting such an announcement aside, it actually makes the object interesting for the perpetrators.

The cameras have motion and person detection. So they can report exactly when a person comes. It can't get any more interesting than that. They break in everywhere nowadays. There is a Quick Reply, but unfortunately only for the smart doorbells. I imagine it like "Bauwatch," where you also get an automatic announcement if you climb over the fence.

No. Even the statistics don't say that (there you see a decline over the last years by almost 50% since 2016). Already every second break-in fails.

I absolutely cannot confirm that. Yes, "simple" property crimes still exist, but not increasing, rather decreasing. In our district, we have the most burglaries in the state (due to proximity and public transport links to the big city, as well as highway connections). The trend is moving elsewhere. (I am a professional in this field)

I could imagine that with Macro Droid. There are also Alexa skills.

This function actually exists and yes, an animal is probably much smaller than a person.
