I have a question, we have a central vacuum system whose air outlet is embedded in the exterior wall of the house, but now we have built a carport there and want to extend the outlet out of the carport, so the outlet would go out of the carport towards the property boundary (of course still on our property).

Is that allowed or must a certain distance to the neighboring property be maintained in such cases (e.g. the magical 3 m limit)?

Best regards

I would already say something different to you as a neighbor purely out of neighborly relations if you blow your (gefilterten?) residual dust onto my property.

Why can’t the opening stay where it is? That little bit of wind doesn’t bother your car.

Well, if my neighbor (bungalow) has his wood stove on and the rather dark smoke, which certainly doesn't smell like baked apple, drifts directly onto our house or our window front, which can occasionally be open, or onto the side air intake of the ventilation system and then into the house, I can't say anything against that, do you want to say something different? I don't see a problem there, I would then go up with a 90-degree bend with a flap on it (like an exhaust on a tractor) so he can't complain that you are aiming directly at his driveway. Or you could try going straight up along your house wall with a 90-degree bend and run a pipe through the carport roof, of course sealed cleanly and properly, and either. Personally, I know what kind of fine dust can still be blown out through a vacuum cleaner filter, if it were my carport where cars, bicycles, etc. are kept, I wouldn't want it either...

Strange, before you wrote that a little wind doesn't bother the car, but now it does bother you?

A 90-degree bend upwards is still on his property!!!

Just like my neighbor's chimney from his bungalow is on his property, but despite that, it is lower than my single-family house...

I am not sitting in his living room and don't know what he is throwing into the stove... still, when there is an east wind, it drifts into my house... that's just how it is...

There are supposed to be people who make a fuss when leaves from the neighbor's tree end up in their garden...

My tip: Call the building authority and ask (to at least be the only one here who can give a sensible answer) ;)

You didn’t get the irony with the car. You don’t want it on your own car, but it’s okay at the neighbor’s, right? The original poster wants to extend the line anyway.

A bit off-topic: What distance does the chimney keep? With us, every chimney has to be 1m higher than all windows (including neighbors’) within a 15m radius.

And how often is there east wind? And what can the neighbor do about the east wind?

It is and always will be a difference whether the wind carries the dust or whether you aim the opening at the property boundary toward the neighbor’s property.
