Hello,

I am a newbie :o ... a warm hello to everyone.

Scenario: Single-family house, old building, about 50cm brick walls, 5cm thermal insulation outside. During the heatwave we recently had, it was about 29 degrees upstairs - not a chance of sleeping. Idea: Air conditioning, at least for the upstairs.

Since it is not possible for me to retrofit condensate drain hoses in the rooms (therefore single or multiple room units are ruled out), I came up with the following idea:

[*]somewhat larger split unit installed only in the central stairwell upstairs,
[*]cooling lines going up and over the attic to the outdoor unit,
[*]the (one) condensate hose I could somehow lead outside.

Questions: does that make sense (of course the doors to the rooms would have to remain open)? How many kW of cooling capacity would I need (the entire upstairs is about 100m²), although I definitely would not want to cool everything down to 20 degrees. How about noise from the outdoor unit(?) - does the buzzing bother significantly?

Thx for some tips.

Best regards
