I would like to buy my entire plumbing system online because I get a discount of about 40% compared to buying from the installer. However, a friend warned me that many installers refuse to install third-party materials; he says they want to drive the online competition out of the market this way. I actually can't imagine that, I mean I pay the installer regularly for his work, he still makes his profit. On the other hand, I want to be on the safe side. Cheap materials don't help me if I can't find a professional to install them. What do you think, do I really have to expect problems if I buy my materials cheaply online?

It will be the case that the installer at least rejects liability for sanitary items not supplied by him. In the event of visual and/or technical defects, you will then be left to bear the damage. However, this is rather rare with brand products. Just try calling a few sanitary installers; I think you will find someone who installs sanitary items supplied by customers.

I had the same problem. Since I buy many things online, I of course also use the discounts and the lower prices. I had to search a long time for an installer who was willing to install the purchased products.

It's quite obvious. The plumbing companies also have contracts with manufacturers. They also receive discounts and cash discounts there. They want to pocket that, and that's why they prohibit the customer from buying it themselves. Our plumbing company buys online themselves. They get everything delivered to the construction site, and that is free of charge. It doesn't get any better for them.

I have also experienced that, and the installation company only uses material for which they first get a large discount and also a better warranty period.

That is why they do not use material from the competition.

When I was building my house, it was the same. I used to work as a dealer in a plumbing company. I still have good contacts there and they gave me a good price.

Only the company did not cooperate and refused to install this material. That was very annoying for me.
