Hello everyone,

At the moment I have saved nearly €15,000 and in addition have the possibility to set aside €1,000 per month.

If my plan works out, I will buy or finance a small house on the outskirts of town in 2-2.5 years.

What would you do in my place? Is a home savings contract still worth it, or should I just let everything languish in the daily savings account?

Best regards,

Jürgen

You can forget about the [Bausparvertrag].

Maybe fixed deposit or savings bond, although the interest rates there are hardly or not at all higher than with the [Tagesgeld], it depends on the bank.

Maybe another bank currently offers more on the [Tagesgeld]?!

The decision should only be made quickly. Because the deposit interest rates will certainly not rise in the foreseeable future. Only a handful of foreign direct banks still have a special offer here and there. I would probably put a large part of the 15,000€ into a fixed deposit for one or two years to at least earn a little more interest. The monthly 1,000€ into the [Tagesgeldkonto] or better - under the pillow :)
